POSITION SUMMARY:

LifeMoves is seeking a highly motivated Motel Coordinator to serve our clients. Under the supervision of the Associate Program Director, motel coordinators act as strong supports and advocates for clients, with the ultimate goal of ensuring their health, safety, and basic needs are met through unprecedented times. Their responsibilities include arranging motel stays for program participants, as well as assisting the Program Director to maintain the ongoing operations of program services.

The Motel Coordinator's primary role and responsibility is to provide safety supervision of program participants; and work collaboratively with partnering staff at motel locations. The Motel Coordinator is the liaison between the program at the motel location and the motel establishment. Successful Motel Coordinators will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and diplomatic limit setting. Duties include but are not limited to: client exit and entry supervision, monitor client activities ensuring program rules are abided, answering phones, accepting donations and helping maintain cordial neighborhood relations.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Screen incoming program referrals and coordinate with referring agencies regarding referral status
  • Contact potential program participants to confirm eligibility and arrange motel stay
  • Reserve motel reservations with motel manager
  • Ensure program participants receive daily meals
  • Conduct program intake paperwork with all incoming program participants
  • Follow up on any behavior concerns of program participants at motels
  • Complete county-wide assessment with program participants for potential housing resources
  • Coordinator with Housing Specialist on upcoming program exits and assist families with identifying alternative housing options and available resources
  • Provide on-going supportive and/or case management functions in accordance with the case/treatment plan
  • Communicate appropriately as needed with probation officers, social workers and family members
  • Participates actively as a team member in supporting clients and the facility (motels) as needed
  • Stay current and knowledgeable about external community resources, referrals and service linkages
  • Maintains client and program records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, grant requirements, etc.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature
  • Participates in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in area(s) of expertise
  • Attends weekly case consultation meetings and monthly training; meet regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Position Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Minimum two year experience in serving homeless families and/or individuals in crisis.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of the issues faces by chronically homeless individuals and families
  • Professional or personal experience working with individuals with addiction or mental health
  • Experience with outreach services for homeless individuals is a plus
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Automobile and valid driver's license preferred.
