NEPA Project Coordinator

What We're Looking For: 

BargeDesign Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking to fill the position of Environmental/NationalEnvironmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project Coordinator in the Site Solutionsbusiness unit. Work includes facilitating project efforts involving clients andstakeholders while leading a group of environmental professionals performingtechnical studies and preparing overall NEPA compliance documentation.  The successful candidate will be required to managethe overall environmental approval process including providinginput to project teams on internal and external scoping, establishingparameters for baseline conditions, developing the purpose and need statement,adequate details for the alternatives descriptions, analysis tone and content,comparisons of effects to analyses under the No-action alternative, andaddressing public comments.  Tasksperformed may also include developmentand review of regulatory permit applications for infrastructure and planningprojects and permits for completing environmental clearance. This role willsupport a variety of project types including infrastructure, energy, and floodcontrol improvement projects.

This role is eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Implements effective strategies to complete and streamline environmental documentation
• Coordinates with state and federal resource agencies
• Identifies opportunities and manages team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, and related activities
• Develops strategic partnerships with sub-consultants
• Facilitates and coordinates all environmental technical studies both internally with Barge's staff and externally with any subconsultants
• Understands and leads public involvement/process
• Builds informed consent among various interest groups

 Education & Experience Qualifications: 

• B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, planning, environmental science, and/or related discipline
• 5-7+ years of experience in leading studies and completing the NEPA process and environmental studies and documentation is required
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and abilities in terms of developing scopes of work, fee estimates, and schedules
• Ability to manage study specialists and sub-consultants
• Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving problems
• Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines
• Strong teambuilding skills
• Able to collaborate with other design disciplines
