The Department of Labor is seeking an Office Technician to join our UI Special Investigations Unit and provide office support to the team. Successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a high attention to detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: 8am - 5pm; M-F
Examples of Work
As an Office Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Communicating with individuals and employers via phone to address inquiries or concerns including identity theft fraud, benefit eligibility fraud, overpayments, and State and Federal unemployment laws and regulations.
• Forwarding requests to the UI Field Representatives as needed.
• Processing mail and distributing to appropriate party.
• Copying/filing/scanning documents into claimant's file.
• Logging checks and forwarding to the UI Tax Department.
• Entering case notes in claims.
• Responding to inquiries via email inbox.
• Ordering office supplies and serve as point of contact for printer/copier services.
• Scheduling team meetings.
• Recording and disseminating meeting minutes.
• Assisting with special projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.

PREFERRED: Spanish/English Bilingual language skills preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Unemployment Insurance policies, procedures and regulations; the practices and procedures pertinent to office/clerical support operations.

Skilled in: organizing workload, attention to detail.

Ability to: communicate effectively with staff and the public to relay information; operate a multi-line telephone system; receive and understand directives; maintain regular and reliable attendance.
