P&C Claims Consultant

We are looking for a P&C Claims Consultant who will manage commercial insurance claims for all lines of business (except Workers Compensation and Bonds) for our large commercial department.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE P&C CLAIMS CONSULTANT:

• Report commercial property and liability claims to the appropriate carrier(s) on behalf of our clients
• Ensure that clients understand the claims process and timelines
• Perform timely data entry of claims information into the agency management system
• Act as a liaison between client and carrier to facilitate the exchange of claims information as needed

• Monitor and manage claims for proper reserves, appropriate actions, and closure in accordance with MMA Bouchard Best Practices
• Resolves complex situations on own initiative whenever possible
• Identify problematic claims and take action to mitigate potential adverse effects
• Advocate on behalf of our clients during claim denials and reservation of rights; negotiate to achieve optimal coverage position

• Serve as a technical resource to sales and service teams to answer coverage and procedural questions
• Participate in onboarding and/or claims review calls with selected clients

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• College degree desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Florida 2-20 License or 6-20 Adjuster License or their equivalent from another state
• Minimum of 3 years commercial insurance account management or multi-line claims experience
• Commercial coverage knowledge of the following: Automobile (1st party and liability), General Liability, Professional Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Employment Practices Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Cyber Liability, Umbrella/Excess coverages.
• Strong working knowledge of policy language and coverage across (multiple lines of coverage is a plus)
• Working knowledge of latest Microsoft products
• Strong telephone and business writing skills along with knowledge of email etiquette
• Effective reasoning and analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Responsive and self-motivated team player
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
