Goodwill is seeking a Payroll Clerk with 2 years' experience to join our payroll department at our Los Angeles campus. As a key member of our payroll team, this role prepares and processes payroll information in an accurate and timely manner and also processes special payments and deductions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system.
  • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors prior to process of payroll. Responds to payroll related inquiries.
  • Processes and researches garnishments; communicates with employees/requesters related to garnishments.
  • Researches discrepancies of payroll data for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • Files payroll documents, correspondence and other items in a timely manner.
  • Runs and distributes payroll registers to the responsible departments.
  • Prepares all bonuses and special store sales event incentives except the executives and special requests.
  • Works with other Departments on payroll adjustments, refunds, additional deductions, setting up loans, processing loan payment, special events, meal tickets and others as assigned.
  • Researches and responds to DPSS requests and inquiries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Education & Experience
      Minimum 2 years of payroll or accounting experience. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, some college preferred.
    • A firm understanding of payroll law.
    • Previous experience with payroll systems in general and knowledgeable in ADP software preferred.
    • Excellent customer service s and communication skills.
    • Bi-lingual and non-profit experience preferred.
    • Able to work flexible shift and overtime when needed.
