The Payroll Supervisor will oversees day-to-day supervision of the payroll team plus payroll processing while ensuring compliance with labor laws, maintaining payroll records, and resolving payroll discrepancies. This role involves collaboration with HR and Finance teams.

The position is located in office at our Global HQ's in Westerville, Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management: Supervise and lead a payroll team, ensuring effective collaboration, and assigning tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and withholdings.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and other relevant standards.
  • Record Maintenance: Manage employee records, including updating information, tracking leave balances, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, errors, and inquiries promptly, collaborating with HR and finance as needed.
  • Software Management: Utilize and manage payroll software systems, staying informed about updates and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management, providing insights into payroll-related metrics and trends.
  • Audit Support: Prepare for and participate in payroll audits, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with employees, addressing payroll-related queries and providing guidance on payroll matters.
  • Training: Train staff on payroll procedures, updates, and compliance requirements, ensuring a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency in payroll operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous payroll team lead or supervisory experience is required.
  • Proficiency in US Payroll is essential; Canadian payroll experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures for the payroll department.
  • Strong understanding of time and attendance principles for accurate payroll processing.
  • Technical proficiency in payroll systems, including but not limited to ADP, OTL, or others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in creating VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of payroll procedures are essential for success in this role.
