Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary: The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Alabama is a seeking candidate for a Postdoctoral position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in transportation automation and cybersecurity. The candidate will be advised by Dr. Mizanur Rahman.

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Experience with transportation automation and cybersecurity. Strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with transportation cyber physical systems and autonomous vehicle cybersecurity.
