What You Will Be Doing - Work in a collaborative and energetic engineering team environment to design high power DC/DC converters for a commercial human spaceflight module
- Design and analyze power distribution systems consisting of high power DC/DC converters
- Develop requirements and test plans for high power electronics design
- Develop interface control documentation for connection to the International Space Station
- Interface, communicate, and drive decisions with cross discipline teams
- Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes
What You Need for this Position - B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline (graduate degree preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Will consider filling at a lower-level position with less years of experience.
- Automotive and commercial electronics background welcome.
- Self-starter and able to perform under minimal supervision.
- Success designing, developing, testing, and high-power converters.
- Understanding of DC-DC topologies and design methodologies.
- Experience in analyzing, simulation, and testing of power electronics.
- Understanding of analog control and discrete logic design.
- Understanding of design for fault tolerance and reliability.
- Experience with in-lab testing and equipment.
- Understanding of PCB layout, PCBA manufacturing, component selection and environmental qualifications.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to solve problems and identify original opportunities.
- Shows commitment to inspiring others.
- Eager and able to work in a collaborative and cross-disciplinary fashion in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-oriented environment.


Essential Functions:

- Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.


Requirements:

- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.


Physical Requirements:

- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
