Job Title: Form Carpenter

Job Summary: Seeking a Full time Carpenter in Lakeland, FL. Measures material or distances using square, measuring tape or rule to layout work. Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood using handsaw, power saw or woodworking machine. Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure using bolts, nails or screws.

Duties:

  • Cut, fabricate and install Industrial buildings and other structures according to specifications
  • Job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructures and products
  • A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail
  • Ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials and masonry work
  • Being able to work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check and pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Must possess a high school diploma from an accredited school or its equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license
  • Must possess and maintain a valid telephone number
  • At least one-year of form carpentry experience - job will provide all tools - may bring tool belt, tape measure, etc.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
  • Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
  • May be required to work overtime, or alternate hours, as necessary for the efficient operation of the department
