Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to contribute to our Continuous Improvement and Productivity initiatives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering world-class products and services to our diverse customer base, including leading medical device manufacturers. The Process Engineer will troubleshoot materials, processes, and tooling-related production issues to enhance and optimize the injection molding and extrusion process. Responsibilities include creating, developing, and implementing process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Production Managers to address ongoing production issues.
Assist in the transition of new process developments and equipment installations, including training of personnel.
Lead process optimization and continuous improvement activities.
Establish and maintain best practice operating procedures.
Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure safe operation of injection molding and extrusion equipment.
Work with design engineering staff to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Provide technical support in production areas of responsibility.
Reduce costs of existing processes to optimize yield/efficiency performance.
Assist in the development, review, and update of best practices.
Lead/participate in root cause investigation and implementation of preventive actions for customer complaints.
Qualifications Preferred:
Prior experience in polymer extrusion, preferably in plastics or medical device processes.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Polymers, Engineering or related field.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems or Lean Certification preferred.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Proficiency in project management, continuous improvement methodologies, and team collaboration.
Six sigma certification preferred.
