Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced Product Manager for a great team in Mooresville, NC!

This is a full time, contract to hire role looking to move quickly!

Pay: $40-$45/hour

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for product development and management of the assigned product lines:

Including the specific product mix, product families, and ongoing evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed or eliminated. Increase sales and profitability through identification and development of visionary new product concepts for anticipated need in our industry niches, and develop support resources and training for sales, customers, manuals, and technical support.

Achieve projected sales and profitability objectives through internal/external promotional activities, product launch strategies, comprehensive line review responses, innovative merchandising and marketing programs, and providing increased transparency to sales for development and logistics progress.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage product specification, cost, quality, delivery as it relates to assigned products.
  • Participate on cross-functional new product development teams. Lead all marketing aspects associated with the product definition, product development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotion plans.
  • Lead development of the pro forma with complete financial analysis and sales forecast for all proposed new products.
  • Develop the positioning strategy of all products and services considering price, volume, share and profitability.
  • Conduct VOC to identify market requirements and trends to drive continuous improvements and to identify product enhancements opportunities. Ensures assigned products are responsive to market needs to maintain and/or improve market penetration and share position.
  • Monitor and assess competitive products and programs and as a result develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line's competitive position and share.
  • Evaluate assigned products for obsolescence and communicates recommended product replacement.
  • Develop profitable promotional activities tailored to accounts to meet/exceed projections. Work with account managers/forecasting/purchasing to ensure proper promotions execution.
  • Work with designers to proactively develop innovative displays, signage, and collateral to support product placement objectives. Provide account guidelines and trends to designers by working with sales.
  • Increase sales knowledge of key trends impacting product categories; provide easily understood 'talking points' on our strategy to capitalize on these developments.
  • Understand the channels in which products are sold through (Retail, mass, clubs, etc.). Know where our products sell through and what our top accounts are for assigned product line as well as sell-through information.
  • Identify and recommend new product concepts. Determine product specifications and features. Responsible for product development road map and launch dates. Prepare budgets and break-even analyses for all new development type projects.
  • Perform ongoing product development research through attending industry trade shows, surveys, journals, sales evaluations, monitoring competitors and industry trends, store visits and vendor contact.
  • Ensure that products meet required global compliance. Be on top of all changes in agency, state and NEC regulations as well as customer requirements, including but not limited to: cULus.
  • Create and provide statement of work to vendor, to define scope of product development and resources required.
  • Responsible with Purchasing Department for vendor partnership. Ensure that vendors are qualified, leverage vendor's R&D capabilities, and assist Purchasing Department i
