Position Title: Production Manager

Summary:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, oversee the comprehensive production operational strategies to support and align with our company's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the production department, managing animal welfare documentation, and ensuring compliance requirements.
• Responsible for animal care and flock management, conducting daily inspections of barns and complexes.
• Address any issues identified during daily inspections and follow up as necessary.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures, suggesting improvements in production methods.
• Manage purchasing of necessary parts, departmental budget, labor hours, and inventory control process.
• Effectively lead staff through coaching, training, and direction, including new hires.
• Ensure timely and effective performance appraisals and address performance issues.
• Coordinate safety programs and training for the production department.
• Attend weekly departmental meetings to provide progress reports, including personnel, equipment, safety, and other relevant information.
• Be on-call for environmental alarms and monitor environmental controls throughout the day.
• Coordinate contract crews, transportation, and processing for bird moves.
• Maintain records for internal animal welfare auditing, compost, wetlands, and lagoons.
• Participate in companywide inspections with ODA, EPA, and County Health Department.
• Maintain CLM and Mortality Composting Certificate.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for application, setbacks, storage, and handling.
• Communicate with nutritionists and the feed mill regarding special needs or changes.
• Generate reports for the corporate office.
• Coordinate with the feed mill to monitor feed deliveries, diets, and the safe feed/safe food program.
• Analyze the previous day's numbers with the supervisor for necessary adjustments.
• Follow up on maintenance and contractor projects on-site.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business management, poultry science, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• CLM and Mortality Composting Certificates preferred.
• Two to Five years of experience in animal farming operations.
• Prior poultry farm management or other livestock management experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

Constantly stand and walk; frequently grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally sit, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
