Responsibilities

• Negotiation to obtain the best price and contract terms
• Responsible for all Purchasing Department DBE duties and functions
• Responsible for the procurement of construction project equipment, contracting services, etc.
• Responsible for vendor relations, contract negotiations and implementing policies and procedures
• Training purchasing agents and clerks in the department
• Competitively bid and/or negotiate the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and services and evaluates and analyzes proposal terms and conditions and clarifications in accordance with project specifications and requirements and negotiates in Company's best interests
• Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary
• Liaise with MWDBE Program Coordinator to ensure compliance with the MWDBE Program Requirements.
• Responsible for all Purchasing Department duties and functions
• All other task assigned by manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four- year college or university in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related major
• Minimum 12 years of purchasing/estimating experience with a major heavy civil contractor
• Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Interpersonal - able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels

Annual Salary - $80,000 - $130,000 DOE
