Job Description Summary

Description Summary The Q.A. Tech performs a variety of tasks at any one the five stations to assure that potatoes and potato products meet Company quality standards. The Q.A. Tech reports to the Q.A. Supervisor.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment as directed by plant policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must actively practice and abide by all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and general hygiene regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • The Q.A. Tech II performs a variety of tasks at any one of the five stations to assure that potatoes and potato products meet company quality standards.
  • Perform attribute tests on both raw and finished products.
  • Helps to train Quality Assurance trainees.
  • Responsible for notifying the supervisors as detailed in the procedure manual.

Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

Education

No prior experience. One to 45 shifts on the job training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk through the plant. The employee is required to use hands to work on computers and reach with hands and arms to check equipment, take readings and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be required to stand, walk, bend at the knees, lean forward climb stairs, work on ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee is ocassionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly worker near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee works primarily in an outdoor environment and in an office setting, where the noise level is usually quiet. However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in the plant where he/she may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the plant is usually loud. Hearing protection is required and provided by the company.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $20.86
