Responsibilities

Provide nursing care, treatment, and services per approved credentialing privileges. Perform intake, nursing assessment, and triage of patients based on their physical, emotional, and/or mental condition in accordance with established protocols, and schedule or refer patients to the appropriate clinic.

Assist in educating patients regarding treatment alternatives and care for current complaint. Document patient assessment and discharge plan in clinical record. Float as RN in other clinics as assigned.

Administer and document procedures, treatments, medications, immunizations, and allergy injections.

Observe patient for potential side effects and allergic reactions. Function as liaison to outside physician offices and medical facilities. Assist the Compliance Office with patient immunization requirements and clearance for university registration.

Assist in maintaining medication/supply stock, emergency box, and oxygen supply. Maintain other records and logs as required.

Attend in-service training programs and other educational workshops. Participate in special projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited nursing program to include a high school diploma or equivalent, nursing diploma, and four (4) years of experience; Arts of Science degree in Nursing and two (2) years of experience; or a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing

A current Registered Nurse's license in Florida.

Knowledge of and ability to apply current nursing principles, methods, and practices for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Ability to assess patient condition independently or in consultation.

Ability to provide appropriate treatment or referral for treatment.

Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Skill in assessment and treatment of persons from diverse populations.

This position requires incumbent compliance with University confidentiality policies.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Position requires pre-employment PPD (TB) and successful completion of post hire OSHA training.
