About the Role:

The Everest IT organization is looking to bring in an experienced Release Train Engineer to support our growing team. This role will be critical in the organizational shift to Agile delivery, with a focus on global expansion and some of the fastest growing and most impactful initiatives. Strong leadership, change management, and coaching skills are all key components to success in the role.

The Release Train Engineer will be responsible for the overall performance of teams within the ART (Agile Release Train). With superior communication skills, the incumbent will ensure that core business capabilities, via epics and features, are delivered with high quality, on time, and in alignment with our strategic objectives. The primary goal of the role is to drive end-to-end delivery of value in an Agile manner and in alignment with stakeholders and partners across development teams, trains, and business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate ART events and drive PI execution and delivery through Agile processes and ceremonies.
  • Financial management of initiatives within the train's scope.
  • Capacity management within the train and in partnership with demand from other trains.
  • Facilitate PI Planning to ensure proper alignment of plans to business outcomes, and plan through dependencies internally and with partnering ARTs.
  • Represent teams through ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums to remove obstacles and drive completion of release goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a collaborative environment in order to increase productivity.
  • Provide servant leadership and coaching to scrum masters and other team members to ensure development teams are adopting Agile practices.
  • Track and communicate overall train velocity and capability outcomes, with sprint and PI progress/burn down charts to management and stakeholders.

Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Certified Release Train Engineer preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in Agile delivery
  • 2+ years experience as a Release Train Engineer
  • Experience leading delivery in a transitioning environment is a plus.
  • Experience with JIRA is a plus.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
