Alliant Energy is looking for IT Analyst II / RPA Developer II who can design and code complex automation solutions to streamline or replace current manual processes. In this role you will primarily be working as a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer. You will create automation solutions and ensure the solutions running optimally; resolve business users' technical challenges with automation solutions. You will also demonstrate the ability to analyze business processes before designing and implementing solutions to a diverse variety of complex problem, and will handle end-to-end development including coding, testing, and de-bugging. The ideal candidate will have experience with robotic process automation (Automation Anywhere specifically) against enterprise business applications.

This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office on average 2 days per week. The successful candidate must reside in either Iowa or Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Hands on development in scripting, Java and/or python
  • Working with XML, JMS, SOAP and/or Web Services and other SOA/Integration technologies to develop automation solutions
  • Following general instructions, ensures critical review points and quality assurance controls are included in all application development projects.
  • Develops cost estimates associated with recommended system development solutions.
  • Assists in defining user stories and participates in workshops, data and process modeling, and prototyping sessions.
  • Assists in ensuring business and technical needs and opportunities are identified and satisfied throughout solution development.
  • Assists in the gathering and analysis of information required for accurate technical design, including the identification and evaluation of purchased package solutions.
  • Works with data/database administration functions to ensure accurate design of system databases and appropriate integration with other corporate data.
  • Assists with analyzing information and business process flows to integrate new applications with existing applications.
  • Performs and assists testing for moderately sophisticated systems. Helps develop critical measures to test function and system performance improvements.
  • Assists business team in identifying training requirements to support application and other information technology use.
  • May collaborate with security and infrastructure areas to recommend appropriate security and control factors and infrastructure requirements for applications.
  • Working on automation solution against enterprise business applications like ERP systems such as, Oracle Customer Billing and PeopleSoft.

Required qualifications:
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Automation Anywhere development experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree with an emphasis in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Automation Anywhere against business applications preferred.
  • Experience with Java and / or Python preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of concepts of information technology.
  • Ability to implement standard analysis, programming, and testing techniques.
  • Ability to determine use of appropriate current information processing technology, applies logical reasoning to moderately complex situations, and analyze problems of a moderately complex nature and derives workable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain business applications using application development tools as defined.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and able to work in a diverse work environment.
