Description: Large food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Safety Manager for a location on the eastern shore or MD.

Summary ~

The Safety and Security Manager leads all safety & security efforts for assigned manufacturing facility by maintaining a world-class culture through continually improving safety processes. Technical expert partnering with operation leadership to deliver operational results through impactful safety, health, and security solutions.

•Provides technical expertise for cross functional teams to ensure safe operational processes and capital/engineering projects. Collaborates with functional experts in vehicle safety, corporate security, environmental, PSM, and other areas to align facility activities and objectives. Provides interpretations for OSHA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, and other pertinent regulations to ensure processes and policies comply with applicable laws and regulations.
•Interacts regularly with the hourly work force to promote safety awareness and works to resolve their safety issues and concerns.
•Leads site safety business plan development by analyzing relevant data and tracking/reporting facility and corporate KPIs/metrics. Validates plan's actions through internal safety and security auditing tracking findings through closure.
•Provides training support to the organization and ensures that all required safety training is effectively completed on time.

•Ensures effective investigations on all safety and security incidents are completed, participating actively during complex and high impact investigation.

•Liaisons for 3rd party assessments, audits, & inspections, i.e. insurance carrier, local fire department, risk engineering firms, OSHA, DHS, etc.

Requirements ~

- Bachelors degree (in Safety, Business Management, or related field preferred).

•5+ years of progressively increasing safety & security responsibility with 3 - 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.

•Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations issued by OSHA, workers compensation and other governmental agencies.

Experience Preferred ~

Multi-facility industrial safety experience; direct personnel management experience, professional safety or security certifications; bi-lingual capabilities; expert knowledge of health and safety disciplines as related to food processing.
