Job Description
MV Transportation is seeking a Scheduler for our Ashtabula County Transportation System (ACTS) services, who is a valued member of the team and is responsible for optimizing service requests so that trips are routed in a way that maximizes on-time performance and meets customer expectations. This position must be proficient in the Trapeze software and its best use practices. He/she creates initial routes in Trapeze and then makes manual adjustments for improved performance.

Scheduler Job Responsibilities:

• Answer passenger calls collecting all necessary trip information for the permissible time period.
• Provide system information for current and new passengers as well as for potential passengers on accessing the transportation service and using it effectively.
• Complete data entry of passenger file information and for specific trip requests, negotiating requested times where necessary or appropriate.
• Provide feedback to passengers in the way of follow-up calls as a course of duty or as required by schedule changes.
• Communicate passenger cancellations in a timely manner to dispatch or vehicle operations personnel.
• Maintain up to date passenger records in customer database, making all necessary changes in status, client contact information, fare/rider type or other important field entries.
• Maintain accurate records and appropriate filing systems.
• Research and analyze scheduled trip requests using the Scheduling software.
• Negotiate pick-up times with customers when necessary.
• Match trip requests to a route that will ensure timely pick-up from origin or arrival to destination.
• Analyze batched trip to ensure they are optimized to on the assigned route.
• Ensure that at the end of the scheduling process, OTP goals are reached, and route schedules are adequate to allow for timely-performance.
• Communicate effectively with operations staff regarding scheduling or passenger issues.

• All other duties, as assigned.
• Ability to work Saturdays on a rotation at least once per month.

Talent Requirements for both positions:

• One (1) year previous Scheduling experience preferred.
• Two (2) years of Customer Service experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Trapeze software and proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast pace environment.
• Demonstrate a high customer service commitment.
• Able to demonstrate professional phone manner.
• Knowledge of the service area is a plus.
