Discover Impactful Work:

The Security Analyst I occupies a position of trust within the Thermo Fisher Scientific Cyber Forensic Laboratory. The Analyst will be tasked with monitoring, triaging, and preventing internal threats to help protect company data and intellectual property. Using an array of security solutions, you will support critical projects related to data loss prevention and insider threats. In this role, you will work closely with Digital Forensic Examiners to assist with investigations, while driving process improvement and maturity initiatives for the program. This role will enable opportunities to learn and grow under the mentorship of an experienced Examiner within the established mentorship process.

A day in the Life:

• Monitor and triage internal threat activity using various tools, technologies, and solutions
  
• Consolidate critical findings, build reports, and prepare presentations to review findings with key partners
  
• Develop use cases to improve detection and alerting capabilities
  
• Contribute to the development of metrics and key performance indicators
  

Keys to Success:

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Cyber Security or related field - equivalent work experience acceptable
  
• Cyber Security or Digital Forensic certifications a plus
  

Experience

• 3+ years of IT, Cyber Security, or related experience
  
• Experience with DLP, SIEM, EDR, IRM, SOAR, and/or UEBA solutions a plus
  
• Experience as Tier 1 or Tier 2 support is a plus
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• A self-starter who is highly inquisitive with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally with teams
• Ability to make informed analytic judgments and thoroughly detail findings in a written and/or presentation format
• Possess an investigative approach with strong analytic and creative problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with basic Windows and Mac operating system functionality
• Proficient with the core MS Office suite
• Solid attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
• Ability to normalize, organize, correlate, and analyze log data using a variety of tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Splunk, Tableau, etc. a plus.
