Caterpillar Inc.'s Building Construction Products Division (BCP) is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Engine Performance Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration and optimal performance of diesel engines across various platforms within our esteemed Compact Track Loader (CTL) and Skid Steer Loader (SSL) products. As a key member of our team, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of orchestrating the synergy between engineering components to upload the highest standards of functionality and efficiency. What you will do:

  • Work closely with our team of vehicle performance and integration engineers to co-create and define essential engine performance standards, ensuring your insights shape the core of our product excellence.
  • Partner with both our vehicle systems experts and esteemed engine suppliers to craft a comprehensive validation strategy. Your collaborative approach will ensure the robustness and longevity of our engine systems in diverse vehicle applications, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to reliability and durability.
  • Proactively monitor the performance and well-being of engines across both developmental stages and customer fleets. Your keen eye for detail will allow you to swiftly identify potential issues, enabling timely investigation into root causes and paving the way for proactive solutions.
  • Lead the charge in swiftly resolving any developmental hurdles or customer machine concerns, leveraging your expertise to deliver robust and fully validated solutions. Your dedication ensures that our products consistently meet and exceed expectations, fostering trust and satisfaction among our valued customers.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
  • Degree requirement : Bachelor's degree in engineering or materials science.
  • Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to use tools and techniques to analyze data and determine the root cause of complex technical problems and create alternative solutions.
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of construction products, ability to design, build, and develop a new product from concept through to production.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to perform complex assignments, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills are required. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
Top candidates will also bring:
  • Relevant engine/power systems engineering work experience or service of off-highway or automotive equipment.
  • Experience in machine testing and instrumentation. Knowledge of software requirements and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Skid Steer Loaders or Compact Track Loaders.
  • Strong knowledge of engine and after-treatment systems.
