Role Description

As a member of the US Commercial Finance team, this position reports directly to the US Controller & Finance Director. The individual is able to interact with all levels of the business ranging from executive to customer. The individual is aligned with all Zoetis core competencies and values.

The individual is responsible for partnering with the business unit finance leads to ensure all the agreements and initiatives within GTN revenue management are captured and reflected in a timely and accurate manner in our financial statements, monthly business planning and rolling forecasts of net sales. The individual will be expected to establish best practices and work closely with business partners to understand, identify and support GTN accounting automation opportunities. The individual will lead the design of automated solutions and build out the technical components.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and serve as subject matter expert (SME) for the overall GTN accounting process, focusing on rebate programs and chargebacks/revenue share agreement ("RSA") processes, systems, and data within the organization.

• Partner with Net Revenue Management, commercial, and marketing to analyze and influence commercial contract proposals and incentives that may have revenue recognition implications

• Anticipate Senior Management needs and provide appropriate analyses needed to effectively make significant strategic and financial decisions in support of corporate business objectives.

• Develop and maintain all U.S. Commercial GTN Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Risk and Control Matrices in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Zoetis Accounting Policies and Procedures.

• Ensure a robust accrual and reserve estimation process to ensure amounts are completely and accurately valued

• Ensure U.S. Commercial GTN controls are SOX compliant by performing detailed reviews and ensuring sufficient documentation in accordance with SOX standards

• Responsible for leading the GTN audit reviews by the Internal SOX or Internal Audit teams and the external auditors.

• Develop value added analyses to provide timely observations regarding GTN rates, adjustments and trends. Lead the team in moving towards more value-added analyses as the required calculations become more automated.

• Estimate precise GTN rates across business units considering, non-recurring and new programs to help support the Company's latest monthly and quarterly estimates.

• Continue to enhance GTN SOX controls to increase efficiency by leveraging SOX compliance systems and reports during automation initiatives.

• Identify and communicate potential issues and present ideas.

• Mentor team members and provide training and guidance to help effective performance.

• Ensures timely and accurate reporting in accordance U.S. GAAP accounting standards, Zoetis policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.

• Supports corporate requests for data to fulfill external reporting requirements.

• Proactively delivers on all business unit & corporate reporting requirements for GTN.

• Is an active member of the Finance community ensuring that the complex factors behind the analysis of the business are understood, and that the appropriate financial analysis, management analysis is provided to the leadership team proactively.

• Indirect reporting of 3 members of the Controller's organization

Education:

• University degree in the appropriate discipline (i.e. accounting/finance)

• Certified public accountant or equivalent (chartered accountant) and/or MBA preferred

Experience:

• Minimum eight years of experience in Accounting or Finance roles

• Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)

• GTN accounting experience is required

• Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is required

• Project management and related experience leading teams through change

• Experience implementing a software or automated solution preferred

• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems - SAP

• Large public accounting firm experience is a plus

• Familiarity with Zoetis' Accounting Policies and systems is a plus

Skills:

• Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail

• Solid understanding of accounting, internal controls, financial systems and processes

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

• Proven ability to lead a team and complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

• Ability to multi-task, consistently meeting deadlines on multiple projects and activities

• Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders

• Strong ability to work under pressure

• Strong ability to organize, and prioritize tasks with a good sense of time management

• Advanced knowledge of Excel required
