Senior Technical Engineer - Busbar

Vertiv is hiring a Senior Technical Engineer in Anderson, SC to play a crucial role during the presales and post-award process by providing technical expertise and technical submittals to the customer, sales and project teams. The Technical Presales engineer provides technical input into bid proposals, projects and technical documents within the sales process and identifies additional sales opportunities with existing customers.

This position requires in-depth knowledge of Vertiv's product range and strong collaboration across Vertiv's global estimation, sales, offering, engineering and project delivery teams to leverage common designs and type-tested products.

This role requires strong collaboration with a strategic mindset, product expertise and effective communication to contribute to the overall success of the production process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the sales and project teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions in line with current type-tested product offerings.
• Develop comprehensive technical submittals that include product datasheets installation instructions, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, and CDE against the project specifications and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with the project delivery and engineering teams to ensure submittals align with project design, specifications and client expectations while adhering to current type-tested product standards.
• Maintain an accurate log of all requested and issued technical submittals for quality assurance.
• Improve production capacity and reduce engineering demand for tailored solutions by proposing standard type-tested designs.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for the customers, sales and project teams to answer complex issues.
• Monitor the market and identify the need for new product development based on, trends, customer feedback, market demands and competitive activity.
• Own it and act with urgency.
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 5+ years of product manufacturing experience.
• Deep technical subject matter expertise in power distribution and Busbar products.
• Experience in technical scope review and formal proposal development preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
