Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Position Purpose:

Provides leadership in shipping/receiving, warehouse, and material handling to meet the requirements of our customers, internal and external. Maintains a continuous flow of product, resolves issues quickly and according to policy. Leads the group in maintaining a safe work environment, maintaining, and improving quality, lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Functions:

• Manage shipping/receiving, material handling, material flow and freight traffic.

• Develop measures and processes to ensure customer metrics are proactively monitored.

• Oversee training of operations personnel

• Maintain/update SR/MH work instructions and assure that they are understood.

• Address equipment issues with maintenance.

• Understands what production requirements are and communicates them to associates, moving people as required to maintain balance.

• Evaluate current and new associates.

• Leads and facilitates daily shift start up meetings.

• Coordinate and control all documentation on the product coming in and out of the facility.

• Continually reviews area for safety concerns. Intervenes when associates are performing a task unsafely.

• Assure that all required bar code transactions are performed as required.

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred but an associate degree or equivalent experience in an applicable area is acceptable.

• Forklift certified or license required.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years supervisory experience in a team or highly empowered environment.
• Practical experience facilitating problem-solving processes (preferably in a highly empowered environment) is critical.
• Must possess the ability to effectively direct, motivate and coordinate all activities associated with the specified area of responsibility and MH/Coordinator accountable.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
