JOB SUMMARY:
The Shop Planner prioritizes all work to be accomplished during a specific shift and forecasting the next 48 hours. His/her responsibilities include the set-up of shifts in terms of job assignments coordinated with Production Control, Team Leads and other manufacturing management and mechanics.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
• Planned work hours for the department for that day
• Man-hours expended on previous day plan VS actual and variance.
• Percentage of project items open and completed.
• Areas that may affect the release date due to parts, engineering and lengthy elapsed time work orders.
• All items which exceed or are approaching their estimates.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This Position is accountable to the Production Control Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
1.3 years of Planning and/or Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
2.High School diploma or equivalent
3.Must be proficient with computers and with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
4.Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills.
5.Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
PREFERRED:
1. Experience with LEAN Manufacturing concepts.
2. Must be able to accurately interpret drawings and blueprints to accomplish a specific task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to work effectively at video display terminals for extended periods of time.
2. Must be able to lift and carry minimum of 15 lbs.
3. Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
