JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for an Sr. Electrical & Instrumentation Quality Inspector with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This position is located at our client site in Theodore, Alabama. Authorization to work lawfully in the US is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include, at a minimum:

  • Surveillance of contractor's installations, fabrications, and other identified field work.
  • Executing visual inspections per Code, drawings, and other applicable standards.
  • Preparing inspection reports.
  • Proactively reviewing Inspection and Test Plans and other quality documents for applicability.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 7 years Quality Assurance construction experience required.
  • Certification in at least electrical or Instrumentation & Controls inspection discipline preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Codes specific to the Oil and Gas / Petrochemical industry.
  • Able to read blueprints, ISOs, and PI&D's.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls engineering, design and construction, engineering survey principles, trends, techniques, mathematics, and compliance processes and procedures related to federal, state, and local codes and regulations governing construction.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance processes and procedures related to project construction.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Quality Inspection tools and calibration requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in storage and preservation of equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of installation and setting of equipment.
  • Applies basic knowledge of Company/Project operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Persistent and inquisitive in the pursuit of information; obtains all relevant facts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary and grammar. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prepare detailed and project specific inspection reports and other documents as requested.
  • Knowledge in computer programs such as Microsoft Office 365, Adobe and other project specific software platforms as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one situations. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
  • Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures as required.
  • Must be comfortable working in all environments including excessive heats and heights as needed.
