Sr. Research Assistant BWH NEUROLOGY

Working very independently with little guidance from Project Manager and/or Principal Investigator, coordinates all activities of research area including but not limited to: Implementing and maintaining quality assurance procedures, performing statistical analyses, designing research protocols with Principal Investigator, act as liaison with junior staff.


  • May coordinate all (or portion) of research study activities. Function as a resource for all study issues. Identifies problems and develops solutions.
  • May design, implement, and evaluate recruitment strategies for study participants.
  • Interact with patients/subjects with regard to study, including patient education, procedural instruction, follow-up. May serve as a liaison between patient and physician.
  • Responsible for overseeing the data collection process. Ensures integrity of patient data.
  • May implement and maintain quality assurance procedures and systems.
  • Plans, designs and performs statistical analyses.
  • In collaboration with PI, develops and implements new research protocols including design, data collection systems, and institutional review board approval. Responsible for writing new grants.
  • In collaboration with PI, prepares and may present certain portions of presentations, in addition to preparing articles for publication.
  • May be responsible to monitor grant budget, in collaboration with PI or Project Coordinator.
  • Coordinate with Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics collaborators Cohen Laboratory for Translational Neuroimaging, Boston Children's Hospital (BCH).
  • May act as liaison between junior RA's/interns and administration/faculty.
  • Attends lab meetings remotely as required.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
  • BS OR BA.
  • 3-5 years of directly related, progressively more responsible, experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work 100% remotely.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and display initiative to introduce innovations to research study.
  • Must have sound interpersonal skills and the ability to act as liaison between junior staff and administration.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subject's rights and individual needs.
  • Experience in prospective recruitment and behavioral testing of children.
  • Experience conducting statistical analyses with MATLAB, Python, or UNIX shell scripting.
  • Contributing to funding applications, conducting statistical analyses, writing, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Experience in fMRI, neurofeedback and/or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
  • This position will be 100% remote.
  • No direct responsibilities but may act as liaison between junior RA's/Interns and administrator/faculty.
