Senior DevOps Engineer in Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
3 months - contract to hire - W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $85/hour
Salary after conversion: $170,000/year plus healthcare and other benefits

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as EMR, SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure requirements and provide solutions that meet business objectives.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform for automated provisioning and deployment.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline the software delivery process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and performance.
- Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across the DevOps environment.
Nice to Have:
- Possess application development skills, with proficiency in Java 11 and above.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark and concepts surrounding big data processing.
- Ability to collaborate with development teams to enhance the overall software development lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to suggest improvements and optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS services.
- Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
- Java / Spring Boot, Kafka and Terraform required.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies, especially with ECS Fargate.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
