(SRO) Strategy Realization Lead

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Strategy Realization Sr. Manager, the Strategy Realization Lead (SRL) is responsible for helping operationalize the Strategic Plan into strategic initiatives that return specific business value to Globe Life.

The SRL provides transparency and accountability on the delivery of these benefits, serving as the single point of contact for all enterprise strategic initiatives. The SRL oversees the progress of these strategic initiatives from the Initiate phase to the Close phase of the Globe Life lifecycle. The SRL creates, maintains, and communicates the overall strategic roadmap (Gantt) and business value realization schedule for the enterprise and reports and communicates out progress to all stakeholders. The SRL forms strong relationships within the organization and enterprise to successfully achieve its charter: the SRL will work closely with the Strategy Planning team for potential initiatives, with Finance to model, monitor and track business measures, with the IT PMO for technology updates, and with the SRO Reporting team for transparency, accountability and performance.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps operationalize the Strategic Plan to realize specific business value outcomes from named strategic initiatives
  • Works with the strategic initiative leaders to model & then establish business value measures, then to ensure those measures are "baked" into the delivery of the program
  • Rolls-up all strategic value realization efforts and helps coordinate for maximum efficiency and effectiveness
  • Works to establish, monitor and report on any initiative-based performance incentives
  • Works across portfolios and functional areas to coordinate, prioritization, and sequencing initiatives as well as to establish and measure benefit realization throughout the enterprise
  • Aggregates all risks & issues, escalations and dependencies related to these initiatives for resolution
  • Works closely with the other SRO teams to ensure each initiative is adequately funded, staffed, and empowered to be successful
  • Ensures each "benefit" is tied to the Strategic Plan objectives and has accountable owners
  • Performs business value audits to ensure realization occurs
  • Creates the policies, procedures & tools for this area to function successfully
  • Provides the timely, accurate and high value reports & communications to leadership and stakeholders
  • Works closely with peers and other functional areas to create beneficial relationships to help this function succeed

Required Knowledge & Experience

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • BS/BA diploma in computers, MIS, management or a relevant field; MS/MA/MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years standing up a new functional area
  • 5+ years defining processes and reporting for a functional area
  • Understanding of project/program management techniques preferred
  • Understanding of data concepts as well as business reporting tools (Tableau, Excel, ...)
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation, change and communications management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office & Teams; working knowledge of program/project management software (Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project etc.) and collaboration (SharePoint, Confluence, MS Teams) is a strong advantage
Work Environment/ Other Information
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • In office or voluntary remote opportunities exist for this position, though frequent onsite meetings may be required to ensure successful outcomes
