American Water is looking for a full-time Supply Chain Intern! If you are a Supply Chain, Finance or Economics junior or senior, then this role is for you!

Primary Role

The primary role of this position will be to provide assistance to the supply chain department.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assess the opportunity and changes of a holistic supply chain sustainability program (ethical sourcing, energy reduction, fair trade, etc.)
  • Research new tools to gather market intelligence and expand category knowledge (i.e. AI, new procurement platforms, etc.).
  • Review and update procurement system catalogs used in the purchasing of materials and services.

Knowledge/Skills

  • High level of proficiency with Word, Excel, and other office-type applications.
  • Experience with using the Internet for research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver multiple assignments in parallel.
  • Ability to perform administrative duties.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Experience/Education

  • Must be a junior or senior status student enrolled in a Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline undergraduate or graduate degree program.
