SUMMARY: This position is responsible for training monitoring and administering the job duties for Food Safety Quality Assurance and Facility Safety for hourly personnel. This includes monitoring and maintaining FSQA programs to verify that product specifications are met communicating with all levels of management and the USDA, FDA, OSHA and or other government regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested corrections tracking corrective actions to the customer government and FSQA inspections until discrepancies are resolved and directing and scheduling laboratory and in-plant quality assurance testing as required on a shift basis. Other duties include assisting in the development of analytical skills used to evaluate problems and provide sound technical advice to resolve situations working with raw material supply plants to improve ingredient quality and reduce foreign material contamination preparing for customer regulatory and third-party audits working on special projects as assigned by the FSQA Manager i.e. writing procedures capability studies records organization computer application and implementation and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. This position is responsible for food safety food quality and legality. This position will provide Safety leadership and strategic direction by leading the location in continuous safety improvement efforts; participate in developing a vision for Safety, which includes continual enhancement of established programs and consistent implementation of new programs within a team environment. The successful candidate will be involved in the effort to eliminate, prevent, or reduce the occurrence of safety, health, and medical issues. The candidate will also facilitate the development and maintenance of behaviors, attitudes and a safety culture that supports the goals and behaviors and actions of Tyson Foods. Serve as the site's representative for Health and Safety. Measures effectiveness of programs; Lead the compliance with OSHA regulations and OSHA/Tyson Foods; Inspect machinery, equipment and working conditions to ensure compliance with OSHA; Maintain OSHA file and support documents. Lastly, this candidate will report any potential violations and recommends corrections as needed, while actively monitoring and maintaining outlined Tyson safety protocols and safety culture.

REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor s degree preferred or equivalent work experience. Experience: One plus years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; for example generating simple letters spreadsheets or creating simple queries. Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. Supervisory Skills: This position may be responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
