LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION
This role is based at our beautiful campus in Pleasanton, CA.

DISCOVER IMPACTFUL WORK:
Our Platform Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Intern to lead system integration activities in collaboration with engineers, scientists, and business professionals to develop a new cartridge-based, sample-to-answer, fragment sizing platform. As a member of a multi-functional project team, you will contribute to the success of this program. This role will experience technologies such as microfluidics, instrumentation, PCR, and DNA analysis.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Partner with technical leads in engineering, chemistry, assay design, and system hardware to optimize cartridge architecture and integration to achieve product requirement and program metrics.

- Contribute to data-driven decision making by crafting multifactorial experiments, collect and analyze data, presenting and discussing results.

- Plan, develop, model, and analyze designs for system integration in order to maintain requirement traceability through verification activities.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

EDUCATION
- BS student in an Engineering, Bioengineering, Applied Physics, or related field.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience with life science instrumentation, fluidics, microfluidics, plastics, and with an eye towards manufacturability.

- Demonstrated success leading technical development and working in a multi-functional team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Fosters collaborative relationships and builds credibility across functions and teams.

- Ability to facilitate design of experiment (DOE), root cause analysis (RCA).

- Strong hands-on ability working with life science hardware systems, including optical, fluidic, mechanical, and pneumatic subsystems, troubleshooting and optimization of system level performance.

- Familiar with data acquisition and analysis tools such as JMP, MATLAB, Python, Excel, LabVIEW, etc.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $14.75-$45.75.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
