Job Description
Our client is seeking a Technical Training Specialist to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas, at our corporate headquarters. Situated within the Information Technology (IT) department, the Technical Training team is on a mission to drive application adoption and elevate the utilization of technology across the organization by delivering quality support resources. We support the Business by helping employees use the technology available to increase productivity and improve their day-to-day lives. This includes introducing new applications, sharing updates and changes to existing tools, and providing resources that enable employees to build their technical knowledge and skills throughout their Ownership, We own the creation, delivery, and maintenance of technical training content throughout the lifecycle of use. We work in parallel with Agile software development teams to advocate for learner needs throughout the project and develop support resources, setting employees up for success on Day 1. We also work hand-in-hand with Application Support and the Service Desk to ensure we can provide resources that proactively answer questions employees may have when they reach out. Other essential responsibilities include:
* Support needs analysis during the project kick-off
* Participate in Agile software development project meetings and events to maintain alignment during content development and application release phases
* Develop effective training presentations, tutorials, instructor and student guides, practice activities, assessments, and evaluations in varied formats
* Create, review, and update resource materials as indicated by user feedback, application updates, and stakeholder requests
* Maintain, coordinate, and communicate training schedules with end users and stakeholders
* Collect and maintain training data to support department key performance indicators
* Coordinate external vendor-provided training with end users
* Facilitate live, instructor-led training sessions with groups or individuals in a variety of settings (in-person, on-site, virtual)
* Build relationships throughout the organization, both within IT and across business units/customers/stakeholders, to identify/address gaps in user training
* Stay up-to-date on core technology, IT applications, and business strategies
* Assist technical managers, IT developers, and specialists in explaining complex technical concepts and business/data workflows to non-technical audiences
* Provide user training support with IT product launches and go-lives

Basic requirements
* College degree in Education, Organizational Development, or IT-related field
* 1-5 years of experience designing, creating and delivering technical training solutions
* 2+ years of experience using content authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)

Minimum Requirements
* A hands-on, can-do positive attitude
* Ability and flexibility to travel up to 25%
* Able to work on-site full-time (limited remote work pending)
* Clear, concise, and accurate in written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced proficiency with O365 and SharePoint
* Can apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles across delivery methods (self-paced, instructor-led, in-person v. virtual)
* Can develop content across learning models (ADDIE, LLAMA), balancing flexibility and discipline
* Can measure training engagement and effectiveness
* Thinks creatively and shows a willingness to explore innovative training solutions
* Can prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused IT environment
* Gives, receives, and applies feedback from internal and external stakeholders in a constructive and professional manner
* Applies business acumen when creating content to ensure learning activities are relevant and reasonable within the context of stakeholder needs
