(Contingent upon available funding): 13.00 - 26.60, Hourly Work Schedule: M-F 8 am to 5 pm (hours may vary) Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: This position primarily works in Small Animal and has the following responsibilities:Instruct and assist year-four professional veterinary students. Maintain equipment and supplies inventory in clinical areas. Provide high quality veterinary technical assistance in several clinics/departments of the VTH including small animal emergency, medicine, surgery, ICU, community practice, ophthalmology, cardiology, oncology, and equine and food animal medicine, surgery, ICU and emergency, etc. Special Instructions to Applicants Please Attach Resume and Three References Education & Experience Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High School/GED and two years related experience; or

Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with two years related experience; or

Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related area; or

DVM degree or equivalent.

Experience in restraint of small and large animals, administering injections, andplacement of IV (peripheral, central, and urinary) catheters is essential. Must haveknowledge of equipment used within VTH including, but not limited to: personalcomputer, telephone, copy machine, laser, video endoscope, diagnostic labequipment, camera/video camera, electrodiagnostic equipment, etc. Must bephysically capable of lifting animals weighing 50 pounds or greater onto exam tablesand into elevated cages.

Ability to perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology

Five years experience as a Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA or credentials in a specialty that VTH defines as meriting recognition.

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS).
